Replaced carpet in office and stairs with strand woven bamboo. Used a Miter saw with Carbide blade to cut all the bamboo. The floor is “floating” but the stair treads were glued using PL polyurethane adhesive. The photo showing the ladder in the back yard is how we got up and down the stairs in the 24 hours the adhesive was drying. NOTE: if you buy this type of flooring, be sure the formaldehyde content in the bamboo and the adhesive (if used) is within health code range (CA standards are the high standards). Bamboo is sustainable, renewable wood. The strand woven bamboo process shreds mature (3 year old) bamboo, adds adhesive, and compresses it into wood planks. The heat alters the colors; ours is natural, but can get in darker colors. It is finished with aluminum oxide and very durable and easy to clean even dried paint off of it (but don’t try that at home
